Grinkrak's Looncourt

Painting Grinkrak's Looncourt with the new Scale Color Games Paints: A Riot of Color

tags: Personal Gold

Grinkrak's Looncourt is one of those characterful warbands in the Warhammer Underworlds —an eccentric band of squigs and goblins who believe they're noble knights on a grand quest. I recently took on the challenge of painting them using the new Scale Color Games paints, and the result is a delightfully chaotic explosion of color.

I wanted to try out most of the new paints in the line, so rather than stick to a strict color scheme, I let the personalities of each model guide me. The result is a true patchwork of vibrant hues—every grot and squig a little different, yet somehow united by the whimsical madness that defines the Looncourt.

The Scale Color Games range is a joy to use: smooth, richly pigmented, and perfect for layering or blending. Highlights went on like a dream, and the saturation made each figure pop without overwhelming the detail.

This project was less about cohesion and more about character. Grinkrak’s Looncourt don't march in formation—they bounce, scamper, and sally forth in glorious, goblin-esque disarray. The eclectic palette reflects that perfectly.

If you're thinking of trying the Scale Color Games range, I highly recommend it—and what better canvas than a bunch of deluded goblin knights?
