Borgit's Beastgrabbaz

Embarking on the journey to paint Borgit's Beastgrabbaz from the latest Warhammer Underworlds expansion, I chose to employ a limited palette inspired by the Zorn palette.

For this project, I focused on warm hues to capture the gritty and dynamic essence of the Beastgrabbaz warband. By mixing Yellow Ochre and Cadmium Red, I achieved a variety of rich oranges and earthy browns, which served as the foundation for the goblin skin tones and leather accessories. Introducing touches of Ivory Black allowed me to create deeper shadows and add contrast, enhancing the three-dimensionality of the miniatures.

The limited palette not only simplified the mixing process but also ensured a cohesive and unified look across the models. This approach proved particularly effective in conveying the raw and rugged aesthetic characteristic of the Beastgrabbaz.

Embracing a Zorn-inspired palette for miniature painting offers a streamlined yet versatile method to achieve depth and warmth, making it an excellent choice for projects aiming for a naturalistic and cohesive appearance.
